It's been a busy month for me. I've had the South of England Championships, the Under 23 European Trials, the World Trials, the European Championships and London Grand Prix and in between I've attended two McCain Track and Field Roadshows.
Even thinking about my hectic schedule is exhausting. Lol.
Things have been looking good I've been doing a mixture of 400m and 400m hurdles races. Firstly the South of England Championships held in Watford were a success and I came 1st in the 400m. I went on to compete at the European U23 trials at Bedford where I came first place as part of the U23 GB team. We then flew out to Lithuania and I bought back the gold medal.
Between the two comps I competed in the 400m at the world trials at Birmingham (Gotta love that track). I managed to attend the Birmingham McCain Track and Field in the town centre. I had never visited the centre before but I will definitely be going back, it's massive.
There was a really good turnout on the day, people of all ages came and had a go at various athletics activities such as the long jump, strength training and track running. The McCain Track and Field tent was huge and housed 6 different stations that tested your health, reactions, power, accuracy, jumping ability and speed. It was a really entertaining day!
I did best at the reaction testing station where the aim was to hit as many targets as possible in 30 seconds.I attended the London roadshow on Wednesday the 22nd of July and was able to have another shot at testing my reactions. I managed to get to the top of the leader board.
Celebrations were kept to a minimum though as my next comp was six days away and I had to prepare for the London Grand Prix. The following Tuesday I was waiting to hear if I had made it onto the World Championships Team. And yes I was selected to compete for my country at the biggest athletics meet of the year in the 400m hurdles and 4x400.
Well what a jammed pack month and it doesn't stop there. Berlin here I come...
